CLC Young Adults
also known as Valiant
A community for adults ages 18–29 navigating life, faith, and purpose together.

Find your people. Grow your faith. Discover your purpose.
Young adulthood can bring exciting opportunities – and plenty of questions. What is God calling me to do? How do I make wise decisions about relationships, work, school, and my future? You may be starting college, building a career, navigating relationships, raising a child, making major decisions, or trying to understand where you fit.
Valiant is a place where you can be known, supported, and challenged to grow. Together, we open God’s Word, talk honestly about real life, pray for one another, and learn how to follow Jesus beyond a church service. You do not have to have everything together before you come. Bring your questions, your story, and an open heart. We’ll help you take the next step.

What to Expect
We know walking into a new group can feel uncomfortable, so here is what the evening usually looks like.
Come In and Get Comfortable
Doors open at 7:00 PM, giving you time to arrive, grab a coffee, and meet a few people before the gathering begins.
If it’s your first time, stop by the New Here table when you arrive. We’d love to meet you, answer any questions, help you get settled, and treat you to a complimentary coffee before the gathering begins.
Meet Someone New
We begin at 7:15 PM with a relaxed connection activity designed to make meeting people easier. You will never be expected to walk into a room and figure everything out alone.
Hear a Practical Biblical Message
Each week includes relevant, Bible-based teaching that connects faith with the decisions and challenges young adults face every day.
Topics may include:
- Hearing God and making wise decisions
- Prayer and spiritual disciplines
- Relationships and emotional health
- Purpose, calling, and career
- Serving and leadership
- Sharing your faith
- Living as a Christian in today’s culture
Reflect and Talk It Through
After the message, you will have time to process what you heard before joining a guided discussion group.
Groups are generally organized by age and gender so conversations can remain personal, relevant, and comfortable:
- Ages 18–22
- Ages 23–25
- Ages 26–29
Depending on the topic, some discussions may be co-ed.
Pray Together
Each group closes by praying for one another and for the real situations people are facing. You can participate as much or as little as you are comfortable with.
The evening typically ends by 9:00 PM, although you will often find people continuing conversations and building friendships right up until it is time to leave.
Night of Worship and Prayer
On the final Thursday of each month, the gathering takes on a more service-focused format.
The night includes:
- Time to connect
- Worship
- Biblical teaching
- Personal reflection
- Prayer and altar ministry
These nights create space to slow down, respond to God, and receive prayer from trusted leaders.
More Than Thursday Nights
Valiant Young Adults ministry is designed to help you become grounded in Christ and prepared to live out your faith wherever God sends you.
That means we do more than gather in the same room each week. We help young adults build practical spiritual habits, discover their gifts, serve others, develop meaningful relationships, and become active members of the wider CLC family.
Throughout the year, we regularly create opportunities to build genuine friendships and simply enjoy doing life together:

Grow Your Faith Throughout the Year
For those who are ready to go deeper, Valiant follows a practical pathway designed to help you hear God’s voice, strengthen your prayer life, discover your purpose, and confidently share your faith.
We call this our Discipleship Year – a year-long journey of learning, practical application, mentoring, and spiritual growth that helps you become more grounded in Christ and more prepared to live on mission wherever God leads you.
The year is organized into four focused seasons that help you learn, practice, and live out your faith. Each month follows a simple rhythm:
Teach > Practice > Story > Process
You will receive biblical teaching, put what you are learning into practice, hear real stories of God at work, and process your growth with others.
Hearing God
frequency
Learn how to recognize God’s voice and practice biblical discernment in decisions involving relationships, career, education, calling, and your future.
- You will explore questions like:
- Can I really hear from God?
- How do I distinguish God’s leading from my own emotions?
What does biblical discernment look like when I am standing at a crossroads?
Practical steps may include attending a CLC prayer gathering, journaling what God is teaching you, and having a conversation with a mature believer about discernment.
Prayer
the secret place
Develop a prayer life that is honest, consistent, and rooted in a genuine relationship with God–not performance.
This season explores:
- Personal prayer
- Praying through disappointment and grief
- Interceding for others
- Praying for the church, community, and city
- Biblical fasting
- Praying with and for other people
You will be encouraged to participate in the Wednesday Night Prayer (CLC main sanctuary), pray with others, and complete a personal fasting challenge.
Serving
on mission
Discover how God has uniquely shaped you and learn to use your gifts to serve others.
This season connects spiritual gifts, personal calling, work, education, and everyday life. You will begin to see your workplace, college, neighborhood, and relationships as places where your faith can make a difference.
Practical steps may include joining a CLC serve team, participating in community outreach, and having a calling conversation with a pastor or ministry leader.
Evangelism
go: for the one
Learn how to share the hope of Jesus naturally, clearly, and authentically.
Young adults regularly interact with people in workplaces, universities, apartments, friend groups, and online spaces who may never walk into a church on their own. This season will help you recognize that God has already placed you in a mission field.
You will learn how to:
- Pray intentionally for people who do not know Jesus
- Share your personal testimony
- Talk about faith with compassion and confidence
- Use social media and digital platforms wisely
- Invite someone into Christian community
- Take an active role in outreach
And the best part? There’s nothing extra to sign up for–Rooted & Sent is built into the CLC Young Adults community throughout the year.
Grow With a Mentor
You were never meant to grow in isolation.
As part of the discipleship year, participating young adults can be connected with an approved pastor, church leader, or mature believer from the CLC family for a year-long mentoring relationship.
Mentors provide encouragement, prayer, perspective, and a safe place to process the questions and decisions that come with young adulthood.
Mentoring is a shared commitment. Participants are encouraged to connect with their mentor consistently, take initiative in the relationship, and meet at least once each month.
This is one of the ways Valiant intentionally builds relationships across generations and reminds young adults that they are not a separate part of the church – they are an important part of the CLC family. As you grow, you’ll have opportunities to learn from mature believers, serve alongside experienced leaders, and build meaningful relationships throughout the church.
Fill out the Connect with a Pastor form and leave a note in the message field indicating your interest in Young Adult Mentorship.

There is no pressure to speak in front of the room, pray out loud, or share anything personal. You are welcome to observe, participate at your own pace, and take time to decide whether Valiant feels like the right community for you.
Come as you are, and your first coffee is on us!
